ABSTRACT

This introduction presents an overview of key concepts discussed in the subsequent chapters of this book. The book is a collaborative knowledge platform for human resources (HR), business, and pricing professionals. It examines a literature review, focusing on publications that have covered pricing from an HR and talent management perspective. Pricing is often considered a hybrid and complex function. Pricing professionals might be a bit too technical for HR and business practitioners. The literature is silent, however, on the subject of pricing talent management and the management of a pricing career. Every year or so, the Professional Pricing Society (PPS) publishes the results of an annual survey it conducts. These survey questions address compensation levels, job satisfaction in pricing jobs, trends in reporting lines, and other important aspects of pricing. The book talks about top professionals who have begun the journey to pricing excellence.
