Key messages • The water resources in the Volta Basin are very important for the development of domestic
and industrial water supplies, food and energy. Such developments have to be undertaken in such a way that no single sector is disadvantaged during the process. A nexus approach to managing the competing water, food and energy sectors will enhance efficiency, reduce trade-offs, build synergies and improve the governance of water and related resources across the basin.
