Key messages • The Volta Basin contains a rich and diverse set of globally significant ecosystems such as
freshwater, coastal and protected areas and forest. The distribution of these ecosystems varies widely across the basin. The range of goods and services from these ecosystems provides significant livelihood opportunities for millions of people residing in the basin countries.
