Political communication research to develop detailed definitions that make it possible to decide which communication activities are organizational in nature and which are not in the analysis of the online presences of political organizations. Digital technologies lead to organizations and individuals adopting highly personalized, socially mediated communication processes in their collective action efforts. In order to highlight the relationships between individuals and organizations, this chapter focusses on the relevant groups and individuals inside the organizations, their interactions, and motives. The conceptual challenges arise in the analysis of organizations in general, and discussed how the micro-macro relationships in organizations become complex in today's online world.
