ABSTRACT
The English of the Middle Ages was a language very different from the English we speak today. The entrance of Latin and Greek roots to English around this time hugely expanded the English vocabulary. Medicine, botany, literature, philosophy and law, to name but a few fields, were and still are strongly influenced by these roots.
