ABSTRACT
This chapter addresses elite sport policy, public delivery systems, and management of elite youth sport in South Africa. It also positions and reflects on government agencies and other key stakeholders delivering elite sport development for young athletes against the background of challenging socio-economic realities. National policy frameworks and legislation guide the alignment of stakeholders and delivery systems for elite youth sport and athlete development.
