ABSTRACT

I have no confession to make, and I’m glad for that. Sexual boundary violations are not rare (Bouhoutsos, Holroyd, Lerman, Forer, & Greenberg, 1983; Celenza, 2011; Kardener, Fuller, & Mensh, 1973; Pope & Tabachnick, 1994; Pope & Vasquez, 2010). Is that part of why there are few pieces of clinical literature that talk about sexual thoughts and feelings in a therapist? There are some lovely exceptions (Jody Messier Davies, 1994, 2001; Gabbard, 1994).
