ABSTRACT
Cleaning data, preparing it for analysis, and conducting analyses requires knowledge of several different software programs. There are tips and techniques to each of these programs that can save crime analysts hours of work. This chapter addresses some of those tips and techniques for cleaning, preparing, and analyzing data in Excel. These will be valuable to crime analysts as they begin to work with, sometimes messy, data.
