ABSTRACT
Stuttgart is the capital city of the federal state Baden-Württemberg in the southern part of Germany. With a total population of nearly 600,000, it is the centre of a metropolitan region of about 2.7 million people. The total area covers 207km² with 50 per cent settlement and 24 per cent forest.
