ABSTRACT
Bilbao municipality is part of a big urban area known as Gran Bilbao, which is located in the northern part of the Iberian Peninsula. It is a coastal area beside the Atlantic Ocean and is characterised by complex topography. It includes 22 municipalities in an area of 25km × 10km. The municipality of Bilbao covers the biggest area (10 per cent) of Gran Bilbao.
