ABSTRACT

Often the stories of undocumented students are obscured by the political debate over immigration policy and by the magnitude of the estimated 11.3 million undocumented immigrants living in the U.S. (Passel, Lopez, Cohn, & Rohal, 2014). This chapter provides insight into the educational experiences of Latina/o undocumented students often overshadowed by the national debate regarding immigration policy. The voices and life experiences of Latina/o undocumented college students shared in this chapter provide a glimpse into pivotal familial, institutional, and community factors that have an impact on their college opportunity and choice.
