ABSTRACT

The organization responsible for the British and Commonwealth war graves in Normandy is the Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC). The organization, headquartered in Maidenhead, near London, England, deploys most of its staff of nearly 1,300 overseas. The commission field staff work at sites along the former Western Front in Belgium and France, in the mountains of Italy, and from the deserts of North Africa to the jungles of Burma (Myanmar).
