ABSTRACT
Corrupt practices within the criminal justice system undermine and neutralize the administration of justice as well as destroy public confidence in the system. Corruption serves to negate the goals and processes of corrections and breeds disrespect for the process and the aims of justice. The purposes of punishment are also undermined.
