ABSTRACT

In recent years, governments across the globe have become increasingly open to view. The Open Government Partnership (https://www.opengovpartnership.org/) had 63 members in April 2014 committed to transparency, up from 8 in 2011. This has been driven by a variety of factors, including decreasing trust in politicians, decreasing faith in hierarchical government, politicians’ desire to share responsibility for decisions and not least increasing technical facility for information dissemination and data sharing.
