ABSTRACT
This volume provides a variety of case studies covering different geographical regions and scales, and social, political and cultural contexts. The aim of this chapter is not, therefore, to take metadata from the chapters herein, but to draw on insights from the various authors, many of whom have been intimately involved with the processes related to their case studies. Identifying successful and unsuccessful strategies allows for the reproduction and re nement of effective means to implement and govern these regions. The de nition of a broad framework can then be intuitively applied to the various contexts of future transboundary conservation initiatives.
