ABSTRACT

This conclusion presents some closing thoughts on the concepts discussed in this book. The book demonstrates the broad manifestation of conceptual metaphors in different media genres such as Forceville, Armbrust, Coegnarts and Kravanja, and Reinerth, evidencing at the same time the relevance of this aspect for further studies. This book offers different methodological propositions as to how to answer the challenge. Considering not only the local but also the global structures of a piece seems to be a relevant step towards a more solid way to evidence these specific mapping interrelations. It concludes research on conceptually based metaphors in moving images certainly has to further elaborate its accounts as to how to identify specific mappings in different modes and media of an audiovisual artefact and evidence this in an inter-subjective manner. This progresses with the development of more fine-tuned methods to identify complex metaphorical structures in the macro-structure of a piece.
