ABSTRACT

This chapter covers the marketing, purchasing, R&D, production, and economic issues. It also use network prespective outline as a tool and act as a control mechanism of the development process. Thus, one critical networking ability is to be sensitive to these differences and organize and judge the different types of resources accordingly. Another important networking ability regards the handling of individual relationships. The process of technical development was at the start of this chapter characterized as a muddling through process combining both political and random factors. The functional interdependence can be seen in the product development itself. The conclusions of the wood saw network elaborate by comparing it with a network with a similar basic structure. Product development can be used as a means of showing mutuality in the relationship with an important customer. In this way product development can be utilized in order to secure the selling of other established products.
