ABSTRACT
The word “makerspace” has come to represent an extremely wide variety of spaces where creative endeavors take place. A recent highlight of select literature on makerspaces revealed that whether they are mobile, dedicated, or distributed throughout an organization, makerspaces are popping up in libraries, museums, schools, and community-based organizations nationwide (Davee, Regalla, & Chang, 2015). These spaces also go by a variety of names—from hackerspace to FabLab and from teen center to learning lab (Chang, Keune, Peppler, & Regalla, 2015)—yet they all seem to share a united view on making's potential for learning.
