ABSTRACT

This chapter explains how the influence of Reggio Emilia, through the implementation of the pedagogical documentation approach to learning, has been the dynamic that has changed the role of the nursery teacher in Stirling Council. Elaine is one of the educators in Aberfoyle Nursery shared that the opportunity to engage in the documentation approach to learning with the support of the pedagogista has changed her life. Ross's tool for connecting the threads was a simple representation that not only consolidated a piece of learning for him but also appealed to other children who adopted it. This led to important connections with other children, which helped Ross to form new friendships in the local authority nursery. Callum and Alex used their model as a tool to make connections with each other, discontinuity of attendance not being an obstacle.
