ABSTRACT

This chapter provides an overview of the groups who benefit from staging the Olympic Games and identifies those that benefit most noticeably. The information is important because it is the basis on which decisions must be made about who should be involved in the Games, how much should be spent, and who will be held ethically responsible for the Games and their economic outcomes. Many stakeholders, of course, are negatively affected by the Games, but they are not the subject of this chapter.
