ABSTRACT
Recent developments in technology are bringing advantages to distance teaching and removing some of the disadvantages previously associated with the use of audio-visual media. New technology promises:
a wider range of teaching functions and a higher quality of learning;
lower costs;
greater student control;
more interaction and feedback for students.
