ABSTRACT
This paper examines daily interactions between Chinese migrant workers and their Japanese employers in Kawakami, a Japanese village located in Nagano prefecture in central Japan. Chinese workers come to Japan under the Technical Internship Program (TIP) 1 and are allowed to work for a period of seven months from April to November.
