ABSTRACT

This conclusion presents some closing thoughts on the concepts covered in the preceding chapters of this book. People all have an assumptive understanding of the concept of education, after all, people are all likely to have experienced it in one form or another. As educational professionals it is increasingly important for them to consider the point of education. Education is discussed and explored at a macro level as a structure, which one can see from some of the policy discussion about how education is provided. Most often education is discussed within the context and structure of compulsory education, referring to the formal framework through which children and young people are guided to specific outcomes. Education and schooling is a system, a structure. It is a framework through which peoples' populations are socialised into the working mechanics of their society. It is also a learning space. Finally, at the meso level the intersectionality and interface of education are considered here.
