Writing a report for use in court and appearing in court as a health professional and/or expert witness

This chapter suggests a potential format for the construction of a medico-legal report. It explores the constituent areas of the report and outlines the process of appearing in court as an expert witness. This chapter provides an introductory overview of the area and therapists intending to undertake work as an expert witness are advised to complete an appropriate training course.
