ABSTRACT

It was both an honor and a shock for me to be asked to write a chapter on “How to become a consulting business.” I have never considered myself a businessman. I can promise you that sales, marketing, and business administration are not my strong suits. For that reason, the notion of becoming a consulting business as opposed to developing a consulting business is a very apt description of the way Enhanced Performance Systems (EPS) evolved. If I had been a businessman, or if I had the money to hire someone who was, I might have developed my business in a couple of years. Instead, it took some 18 years for the business I envisioned to develop.
