ABSTRACT

China has made striking progress on its way to become the world’s largest economy. Along with the sudden economic growth, living standards of China’s citizens have also improved, and many manufactured goods have become commonplace. China’s entry into a mass consumption society is one of the largest factor behind the dramatic rise in costs for global resources. The issues of China’s economy are, from the perspective of quantity, issues of the global economy. From a quality perspective, they also provide a touchstone for many newly developing countries. In analyzing China’s economy, we are focusing on an economic analysis of the venous industry that is important aspect of circular economy and includes disposal of waste, recycling and urban mines. It is an important milestone not only for analyzing the Chinese economy, but also for discerning the flow of global resources both now and in the future.
