ABSTRACT

This book focuses on the current financial and economic crisis that advanced economies in particular have been suffering in the past seven years at least since 2007. It has the objective to explore both the foundations of the economic crisis, offering a heterodox approach to interpret the crisis, and the policies implemented during the crisis and before, along with the main institutions which shaped the model of advanced economies in the last two decades in particular. The book offers also an exit perspective explored through case studies, and development strategies.
