ABSTRACT

The Blanchotian tenor was in the life of Tel Quel, and in its climactic moments. To begin with the group of writers who in forming the editorial committee of the review were affiliated to the values embodied and expressed in the review, one can say that Tel Quel thus designates an editorial policy shaped consensually by a group of individuals. The chapter suggests on the core identity of Tel Quel involves the dynamic pairing of the practice of writing described with a theoretical practice and the main focus of which is poetic language and its relation to subjectivity. However, the emphasis on the mobile character of Tel Quel's identity informs the importance of strategy. However, the evidence for the consistent affirmation of the exceptional and critical value of literature is strong, especially if one considers the alternative canon of writers that Tel Quel succeeded in establishing on the critical map in France and in some cases outside it.
