ABSTRACT

Play is associated with development, learning, health, and well-being across the life span (Clark, 2003; Göncü  & Klein, 2001; Lightfoot, 1997; Power, 2000; Sutton-Smith, 1997; Zigler, Singer,  & Bishop-Josef, 2004). Insights garnered through assessment of play can lead to deeper understandings of individuals or groups. It follows that play assessment may furnish critical information that has the potential to optimize outcomes of educational, clinical, community, and research programs.
