Dr. Crighton D. Newsom, “Buddy” as he was known, was a man of wit, integrity, and intelligence beyond compare who was born on October 27, 1945, in Galveston, Texas. It will forever be unknown if he came by his intelligence naturally or if it was nurtured by his endless love of reading everything and anything he touched. Buddy knew the news as it hit the papers and read every scholarly article on autism and related disorders the month it came into press-that is, if he had not already edited, reviewed, or consulted on its content. It could easily be said Buddy had one big brain.
