ABSTRACT

The Relationship Enhancement (RE) model was a psychoeducational skills-training program developed to help couples and families have better relationships. From the beginning, RE was conceived simultaneously as a therapy with a psychoeducational component and a psychoeducational program to be offered in an educational, non-therapeutic setting such as a weekend workshop or multiweek program format. The skills-training component is identical in RE Therapy and the RE Program. Mastering the Mysteries of Love (MML) version of the RE Program, which was first published in 2004, also has added experiential learning exercises to make the program more engaging for program participants. Love's Cradle is for new or soon-to-be parents, and combines the RE skills with issues related to being a couple and adjusting to parenting. CoupleTalk contains two parts: Cracking the Code to a Deeper Connection, and Cracking the Code to Handling Conflict. Each part contains five sessions of video-based instruction, demonstrations, and interactive exercises together with a workbook for each participant.
