1 INTRODUCTION
1.1 Universal design As a general aim, this chapter should be viewed primarily as a starting point in the design process, as a guide to the principles and conventions that govern how particular building types are planned to suit their eventual occupants. A primary and guiding principle adopted throughout is the concept of universal (or inclusive) design.
