ABSTRACT

Zi Xia 子夏[507–400 BCE, a disciple of Kongzi 孔子],said, “If a man turns his mind from the love of women to respect for the man of virtue, if he tries his utmost to serve his parents, if he devotes his life to the service of his prince, and if he keeps his word [xìn 信]with his friends, then, even if others say that he lacks education, I would certainly call him a learned man.”
