ABSTRACT

Dominic Stewart opens his volume Translating Tourist Texts from Italian to English as a Foreign Language by dedicating it to his students at the universities of Bologna, Macerata and Trento. This is entirely appropriate, as the book is very much a student-oriented text. Other readers will undoubtedly find it useful, but its format and register tie it to the genre of course book for translation students. Colleagues who have taught translation for many years in the Italian university system, and who have provided feedback for this volume, are duly acknowledged.
