ABSTRACT

Cyber University is Japan's first full-online undergraduate institute, certified by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) in 2006. All course credits are counted toward college degrees, yet the students are neither required to come to classrooms nor to take examinations at designated times and places. The students can earn bachelor's degrees in information technology (IT) and business administration in 4 years. All classes and course materials are offered online and on demand, and all course activities, including assignments and exams, are conducted through web communication as well. Because of its on-demand attendance system and the practical curriculum, Cyber University attracts students who seek college degrees in fields directly related to their present work so that they can apply their new knowledge and skills immediately to their jobs at hand.
