ABSTRACT

The Sûreté du Québec (SQ, the provincial police force of Quebec, Canada) and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP, Canada’s national police force) were each tasked with overseeing security at the 2007 Montebello summit held August 20–21 at the Château resort in western Quebec. Clandestine police tactics at the summit that might have otherwise gone unnoticed were brought to the attention of the public by a citizen-recorded video posted to popular social media site YouTube.
