ABSTRACT

Myriad elements comprise the mosaic of diversity, including age, class, culture, disability, ethnicity, gender, gender identity and expression, immigration status, where one lives, nationality, race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, and political ideology. This book takes a look at one aspect of diversity that affects families and access to human services, living in rural areas. In a society inundated with social, familial, and economic challenges impacting the daily well‐being of families, due diligence should be given to each sphere of human services. The contributors to this book have done just that, by focusing on rural America.
