ABSTRACT
Proponents of nuclear power argue that it is safe and necessary to meet the world’s energy needs. Opponents argue that it is neither safe nor necessary. This chapter advances the unpopular view that it is necessary but not safe and reflects on how environmental ethics could bring perspective to the debate.
