ABSTRACT
Novel ecosystems are of growing interest in applied ecology and will be significant for restoration, conservation, and other land management practices well into the 21st century. This chapter explains what novel ecosystems are and one way they could be incorporated into an environmental ethic suited to the Anthropocene.
