ABSTRACT

I attended Penn as an undergraduate, making the choice to pursue a more complete liberal arts education rather than go into a professional degree program. I loved my time at Penn and flourished in the design courses available. Along with three classmates, I was invited to join the graduate program as part of the senior year, which was a great opportunity. After completing the M.Arch., a few of us were encouraged to apply for the additional year in Kahn’s Master’s Class, yet another great opportunity. That year was cut short by Kahn’s death, but the time spent in his class and working with others from around the world was critical in my own development as an architect and as a person looking at the world with a sense of purpose and humanity.
