ABSTRACT
Our focus in this chapter is regions with little or no experience of a strategy for social and economic development that is conceived, designed and enacted largely from within and across the region itself. We consider the emergence of such a strategy, which we refer to as a “strategy from within,” and we do so by reference to the Okanagan in British Columbia, Canada.
