ABSTRACT
Franco-German relations have changed dramatically since the end of the World War II: a traditional rivalry turned into a security community. Political conflicts are managed by peaceful means, and interdependence has reached extraordinary complexity. French and German heads of state regularly meet for consultations. Time and again, the idea of a veritable “Union Franco-Allemand” emerges in public debates and, by now, even a common citizenship is being considered.
