ABSTRACT
Oftentimes, regional orders are formed following major wars (Gilpin, 1981). Such post–major wars settlements (as extensively analyzed by Ikenberry, 2001) can be seen as the starting point for the analysis of regional security and peace, and the analysis of any specific region on the continuum between warm peace and hot wars (Miller, 2016, this volume).
