ABSTRACT
Many species and habitats are in an unfavourable conservation status, worldwide 1 and in Europe. 2 In order to stop or reduce biodiversity loss, conserving only what is left of biodiversity will be insufficient. Species and habitats need to be restored to a favourable conservation status.
