ABSTRACT
This chapter provides a comparative overview of some of the most well-known cartel registers that existed in the twentieth century. 1 These registers had a common purpose; to record information about firms’ involved with restrictive trade agreements and the main elements of these arrangements. Outside of this, however, they varied significantly in their coverage, operation, methodology, timing, transparency and intended use across the countries that adopted this form of competition regulation.
