ABSTRACT

This War of 1812 Chronology includes all the major events related to the conflict beginning with the Battle of Tippecanoe, near Lafayette, Indiana, November 7, 1811, and ending with the United States, Weas, and Kickapoos signing of a peace treaty at Fort Harrison, Indiana, June 4, 1816. While the chronology includes items such as treaties and political events, the focus is principally on military land engagements (including raids, skirmishes, battles, massacres, occupations, and invasions) with only the most significant sea engagements included. Because of space limitations most sea engagements, including all privateering actions, are excluded. This abbreviated chronology represents only 35.6 percent of my 73-page master War of 1812 chronology, believed to be the most holistic inventory of War of 1812 military engagements ever assembled into a chronological listing. Despite this, users will find this shortened chronology useful as all state and province listings are included. The following column graph summarizes the actions found in this abbreviated chronology listed by state and province. Note the vertical scale is logarithmic. 1 Actions by State and Province. https://s3-euw1-ap-pe-df-pch-content-public-p.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/9781315780269/145fd13e-525e-4ab2-9277-31633c9191d3/content/fig20_1_B.jpg" xmlns:xlink="https://www.w3.org/1999/xlink"/>
