ABSTRACT

A multi-agent system (MAS) in which each agent symbolizes a working memory (WM) unit is developed. This idea is inspired by Marvin Minsky's theoretical demonstration of the power of many various dumb agents making an effort toward cooperation so as to pursue high level goals (Minsky, 1985). It is thought that restricting memory span to a cardinal metric is not sufficient (see Cowan, 2001, for a general review of short-term memory capacity). WM capacity could be best defined in terms of communicational complexity between WM units (Mathy, 2002).
