ABSTRACT

Since sexuality is such a tense topic these days, we bisexuals who come out publicly have no choice but to take ourselves seriously as leaders and role models. We need to know how to educate others about bisexuality, how to learn and teach leadership skills, and how to hold each other accountable as we work in coalitions. We must question authority while becoming conscious of how empowerment works. Valuing consensus and de-emphasizing hierarchies is important, but an unexamined distaste for leadership can hold us and the movement back.
