ABSTRACT
Today the bisexual movement is commonly and erroneously thought to have begun in the mid- and late 1980s. Its history, however, actually goes back to a lively bisexual liberation movement which sprang up in the early 1970s, thrived in mid-decade, then stagnated and came close to extinction before reviving in the 1980s.
