ABSTRACT

The task-centered approach is one of a large variety of planned, brief forms of treatment. In presenting the model, I shall give special attention to its short-term aspects, not only because they are an important feature of the model, but also because this is one of the few chapters in this book that deals with an approach that is brief and time-limited by design. In describing the short-term features of the model, I will highlight those shared with other brief forms of therapy.
